PROM 2012

Sierra has been blessed to have friends since her sophomore year that get together and go to Prom. They have a BLAST!!!!
So when I was in school Prom was about the dance... now days it is all about DRESSING UP for dinner and the dance and taking pictures but no one actually dances.
Sierra's Prom dress was white with black and silver glitter filigree design and a black bow sash. Sierra accessorized with 3 shades of YELLOW. A light yellow jacket, with matching bracelet and earrings, a bright yellow purse and 6 inch heels and finally neon yellow nails.

                                Here is a close up!

A close up of the pattern..We had glitter every where. We still do!

                                    The PERFECT shoes for Sierra:)

APRIL came and went so FAST because it was sooo BUSY

At Sierra's High School there is a tradition that we have been looking forward to since her first Jam (Just after Prom activities to keep kids busy and safe) The SENIORS have family members create a poster for them to show off at JAM. We started talking and planning Sierra's sometime after her Sophomore year and each Jam re-visited our idea. So NOW was the time to actually put our plans into action. I was to make a LIFE GAME poster for Sierra's Senior poster. I procrastinated getting my pictures in and was not happy to find out the format I used last time I had to shrink photos had changed so many were to small to use. I had to RE - DO most of them. Thank goodness I gave myself 2 weeks for photos. So Doug created a template for the game and I covered his path with colored paper. Then I started adding pictures to tell the story of her life. Well I HAD MORE PICTURES THAN I HAD SPACE so I kept downsizing! After 2 days of re-arranging pictures. I started actually permanently attaching the pictures I had chosen. I stayed up really late to finish because I was afraid if I didn't finish I would never be able to remember how I wanted it. Then the next day I added stickers and comments and called it done. Doug took it to be lamenated! Here it is.

I had Stampin' Up markers for Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink, Ruby Red but not Blushing Bride.
I used papers closest in color. The decorative papers are from a holiday pack of paper. The Pretty in Pink looks dark pink when photographed, it is actually closest to SU Regal Rose in color.
Stamp set used is SU Enjoy Every Moment. I also used a small heart punch. Thanks for looking :)

Here is another card I did using the same colors just in a different order.

The Flu missed January but caught up to me in February

So for the last week I have been SICK! I hate being sick! Ok, it is nice to have everyone pamper you but the coughing and having no energy and just feeling blah.. not worth the pampering!
I am starting to see the light of day now! I am still coughing but it is just annoying not life threatening!
I wish my annual Flu had come in January like per "usual" because I missed Women's Conference and I was so sad to have to cancel my plans.

I was able to go to Sierra's last New Beginning's in YW. So many "lasts" this year.
They had asked us to bring a light that represents Sierra to us.
I started by saying that since I can't harness the SUN ☼ and bring it, the next best light was a spotlight. Her Dad says because the spotlight like Sierra is very bright and extremely focused. I added that just by being what the spotlight is it gives you light just like Sierra does. She is the Sunshine on a gloomy day!
It was a lovely evening!

When we got home Sierra checked her e-mail and she had recieved her housing assign ment for CSU and she got what she wanted. Roommate assignments comes later in the Spring. Wow! This is really happening!

Hopefully not to much longer now... I should start feeling better and can get back to working out and crafting! :)
