*****Warning contains a little bit of bragging*****
Talk about busting at the seams with Pride! Sierra brought home 10 awards yesterday!!
(Special Recognitions in : Choir.. Her teacher said she is always willing to do what is asked she is kind and willing to help others, she is always willing to go above and beyond what she has to, her positive attitude and sweet disposition and her daily greetings everyday just made my day! She was a pleasure to be around... Spanish, He said this young lady has a thirst for knowledge is constantly asking what words mean in the language she is studying, always wanting to know and understand more about the language and the culture and helps others and is so polite and kind. Math, Her scores ranked her among 35 of 200+ students. Plus she got an award and ribbon for her competing and being on the winning Math Counts team! As a Web Leader helping acclimate the 6th graders to Middle School. National Junior Honor Society member. High Honors Academic Achievement Award! 3.5-3.99 all year round! And the Presidents Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence Certificate and pin!Sierra had to stand up each time her name was called. She almost literally could have stayed standing most of the whole program. And then to top it off she got a special nomination for Most Outstanding Girl 1 of 8 but her best friend actually won the award. I was so Proud of Sierra when her friend came up and they handed her the award Sierra congratulated her and gave her a big hug right in front of the whole class. I made it through the whole day without crying until I read what she had been nominated for and then I couldn't keep the tears back!
Doug had surprised us and his boss had given him the rest of the day off so that he could come! I was so happy!!
Then Doug's Mom who had come up for the award ceremony took Sierra and I to Lunch at Mimi's Cafe. I had the Cibatta sandwich with Turkey & pesto and Sierra had the pot pie.Sierra and Grandma
Sierra and Mom
We kept running into people who congratulated her and told her they expect great things from her. Her art teacher from grade school told her she expected her to be Valedictorian at graduation in 2012... Sierra had to explain that she had chosen to go to Broomfield instead of Legacy and that her reason for going is her religion offers a religion class, Seminary as part of the curriculum at Broomfield and they don't at Legacy so that is why she decided to go there. I was soooo proud of her!
