How do you tear Mom away from the computer?!

Okay so I have been really preoccupied with getting stuff for Girl's Camp (July 14-18th) done, schedules, lists, devotionals. So I have spent a lot of time on the computer. I guess my family felt it was high time I turn off the computer and play with them!
So Sierra screams from her room. "Mom something is outside my window"!! So I save what I am working on and run to her aide! This is what popped up and scared me too death!!
Then we all had a good laugh!! and I did go play with them!!!

Family Home Evening by Sierra

So last Sunday Sierra came home and told us we needed to do BETTER with our Family Home Evenings and just to make sure that happens she will be in charge of lessons and Doug and I can take turns doing songs, prayers, treats and on occasion activities
Well this is not the first time she was going to take charge! So We said that would be GREAT! ( We'll see if anything comes of it)
Monday night rolled around and she was a woman of her word! We had a nice short(that is important for Doug he doesn't have a very long attention span)little Family Home Evening on the importance of Scripture Study and then for our activity we made our very own book marks Mine is First, Then Doug's and then finally Sierra's!
Sierra and I have been reading our scriptures and walking on and off for a week. We need to do some catching up because of a surprise visit from Uncle Gord and cousins, Skyler and Paige, SO MUCH FUN to have and ONLY a weekend to do it all in!

Birdies Flew the Coop

Well our birdies were fluffing up their new feathers 1 minute and gone the next.
So our babies have left the nest!!! Doug took a picture. There was still the infertile egg.
It was fun while it lasted!!

Talk about busting at the seams with Pride! Sierra brought home 10 awards yesterday!!
(Special Recognitions in : Choir.. Her teacher said she is always willing to do what is asked she is kind and willing to help others, she is always willing to go above and beyond what she has to, her positive attitude and sweet disposition and her daily greetings everyday just made my day! She was a pleasure to be around... Spanish, He said this young lady has a thirst for knowledge is constantly asking what words mean in the language she is studying, always wanting to know and understand more about the language and the culture and helps others and is so polite and kind. And the Presidents Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence Certificate and pin!Sierra had to stand up each time her name was called. She almost literally could have stayed standing most of the whole program. And then to top it off she got a special nomination for Most Outstanding Girl 1 of 8 but her best friend actually won the award. I was so Proud of Sierra when her friend came up and they handed her the award Sierra congratulated her and gave her a big hug right in front of the whole class. I made it through the whole day without crying until I read what she had been nominated for and then I couldn't keep the tears back!

Doug had surprised us and his boss had given him the rest of the day off so that he could come! I was so happy!!
Then Doug's Mom who had come up for the award ceremony took Sierra and I to Lunch at Mimi's Cafe. I had the Cibatta sandwich with Turkey & pesto and Sierra had the pot pie.Sierra and Grandma

Sierra and Mom

We kept running into people who congratulated her and told her they expect great things from her. Her art teacher from grade school told her she expected her to be Valedictorian at graduation in 2012... Sierra had to explain that she had chosen to go to Broomfield instead of Legacy and that her reason for going is her religion offers a religion class, Seminary as part of the curriculum at Broomfield and they don't at Legacy so that is why she decided to go there. I was soooo proud of her!

Our babies are growing!!

Well the baby birds got the names Pete and RE-Pete from Doug. I just call them my Baby Birdies! We all say Hi to them as we come and go!! They are getting more aggressive sticking their little necks up as high as they can to be the first one fed when Mom and Dad come in to feed them.
Close up

Here is another picture. We will try to get a picture when we safely can to keep you up on our little Bird family's progress!
So are you asking what happened to the 3rd egg? We are guessing it didn't hatch.
All the pictures we have taken have only shown 2 birdies. At first I was sad but I read on line sometimes the eggs do not get fertilized so only 2 hatch most robins have 3 eggs.
