Sierra is now a graduate

Today promptly at 9AM Sierra was 5th to walk in with her 2012 graduating class of over 300 students to begin the journey to college and adulthood.
Sierra all ready to leave for her big day!

Those of us who wanted to be able to see her up close and personal went at 7:30 AM to sit and hold our 6 seats!!!
Sierra was THRILLED last night to have Doug's Sister Lori show up unexpectedly to join her for the big day! Thank you Aunt Lori!!! Sierra's Grandma Pam also flew in Thursday evening so she could be here for the big event! Also Grandma and Grandpa Allred were with us to celebrate Sierra's graduating!

Sierra' graduation ceremony was held at the First Bank Center this year and it was cool to see HER NAME IN LIGHTS as they congratulated the Magna Cum Laude students as well as the class motto, quote and wished the graduates luck in the future.
The night before she attended an awards ceremony where she was honored for her Outstanding Academic Excellence all 4 yrs and with the Magna Cum Laude Medal (for keeping a GPA of 3.9 or higher all 4 yrs She was 1of 30) she was to wear at graduation. She was also recognized for receiving awards, honors and scholarships for the college of her choice.

I was sitting there waiting for time to pass and the band played the "Pomp and Circumstance March" and the next thing I knew I was crying! I can't believe this day is finally here! Sierra has worked so hard these 4 years and we are so PROUD OF ALL SHE HAS ACCOMPLISHED!!!
It's done! She has graduated!

PROM 2012

Sierra has been blessed to have friends since her sophomore year that get together and go to Prom. They have a BLAST!!!!
So when I was in school Prom was about the dance... now days it is all about DRESSING UP for dinner and the dance and taking pictures but no one actually dances.
Sierra's Prom dress was white with black and silver glitter filigree design and a black bow sash. Sierra accessorized with 3 shades of YELLOW. A light yellow jacket, with matching bracelet and earrings, a bright yellow purse and 6 inch heels and finally neon yellow nails.

                                Here is a close up!

A close up of the pattern..We had glitter every where. We still do!

APRIL came and went so FAST because it was sooo BUSY

At Sierra's High School there is a tradition that we have been looking forward to since her first Jam (Just after Prom activities to keep kids busy and safe) The SENIORS have family members create a poster for them to show off at JAM. We started talking and planning Sierra's sometime after her Sophomore year and each Jam re-visited our idea. So NOW was the time to actually put our plans into action. I was to make a LIFE GAME poster for Sierra's Senior poster. I procrastinated getting my pictures in and was not happy to find out the format I used last time I had to shrink photos had changed so many were to small to use. I had to RE - DO most of them. Thank goodness I gave myself 2 weeks for photos. So Doug created a template for the game and I covered his path with colored paper. Then I started adding pictures to tell the story of her life. Well I HAD MORE PICTURES THAN I HAD SPACE so I kept downsizing! After 2 days of re-arranging pictures. I started actually permanently attaching the pictures I had chosen. I stayed up really late to finish because I was afraid if I didn't finish I would never be able to remember how I wanted it. Then the next day I added stickers and comments and called it done. Doug took it to be lamenated! Here it is.
